Dear Mr. Jobs,

I have been an Apple customer for some years now, and I've received
the news of the release of the iPhone 3G with a lot of curiosity and
enthusiasm.

Unfortunately, despite my interest with Apple products in general and
even if I was contemplating the purchase, I'm afraid I won't buy the
iPhone.

Why should I spend several hundred euros to buy a phone which is
advertised as the coolest of them all and as "the phone that has
changed phones forever" but is not even able to let me play free media
formats and doesn't let me use free software?

Why should I support a product that drives control over their devices
away from users, forcing developers to pay a tax to Apple, who becomes
the sole authority over what can and can't be on everyone's iPhones?

You claim these (anti)features are necessary for "security"; but the
point is: whose security? Mine? Or yours (i.e. being sure the way I
will use my iPhone won't go against your profit motive and the profit
motives of your business partners)?

I want that it's me who have control over what I can and can't run on
my phone, not you. Do you do this for my "security"? No thanks. You're
too "kind" but I'd rather take the risk.

Best regards.
