Somehow dvswitch's pNp has introduced some noise in the audio.  it
exists in the original DV exactly has you hear it here:

So it isn't an encoding problem.

  I'll be spending the next few days trying to track this down, but in
the mean time any suggestions on a filter that will make it sound
better?

My hunch is running ffplay to monitor the audio (which I didn't do
duh)  uses up too much cpu, and dvswich was dropping frames.  The
video does seem to be sped up a bit.
