Hey folks!

Would anyone be interested in an open-source MLT rendering service?
Basically, you'd be able upload an MLT file and associated assets to a
server and off-load the rendering. Some overlap with
https://github.com/ddennedy/wikimedia-video-editing-server, but looking at
leveraging Kubernetes to spin up render jobs... would just be a single API
endpoint for upload and you'd get an encoding back. Or, does anyone know if
a service like this exists already?

I don't have anything coded, yet—but definitely have for offloaded render.
I'm looking at decreasing server costs (and speeding up render) as much as
possible. Any pointers in this regard? I saw some chatter earlier about
GPU/NVENC... having a little trouble with it and could use some
help/insight!

I do have about $5k of non-transferrable, soon-to-expire AWS compute
credits, and I couldn't think of a better way to contribute back to MLT
than to build a quick service and offer some free compute back to the
community. (No idea how many renders this will actually stretch out to, but
hopefully it can improve your lives/workflows or lower that electricity
bill.)

Thanks, everyone!

Cheers,
Allan
