This standard includes such things as sorting rules, representation of dates, times, telephone numbers etc., and much more. The standard has been finalised and should soon be passed to the MSA council for final approval.
I was involved mainly due to the extensive work I did involving the locale in my translations and similar work on Linux, so the Malta Linux User Group is being officially listed as one of the contributors to that standard.
