The article says also "A not-entirely-new but much-improved change is =
the user of extended attributes and POSIX access control lists in the =
filesystem. This means that file permissions will no longer be =
restricted to the usual owner/group/world system (rwxrwxrwx), but will =
be similar to the system available with other operating systems =
including Windows NT, where you can individually grant or revoke =
permissions from groups or users."
Can you expand on this for non-WindowsNT users?
James.

Subject: [LINUX.ORG.MT] Linux v2.6 (beta) unveiled!!

Finally it's here!!
The 2.5 development tree has been frozen and the first version 2.6 of =
Linux has been released. Check out the article on =
http://linux.org.mt/index.jsp=20
We won't see production distributions of Linux using the new system =
for some time yet of course, and it will take even longer for all =
application software to take advantage of the new features offered by =
2.6, but the new version sounds very promising. Major improvements were =
made in the scalability, performance and security areas.
