Hi, Various problems got sorted out when I did a Mandrake update of the system via the internet... Menus are normal & Opera works... it seems it was some bug in the rpm database lock.... Update was 156Mb in all !
Sound is OK, Internet is OK, Printing is OK.... Java & Adobe Acrobat work fine, Mail is fine, OO works fine, Scanner ( Epson ) works fine...Still to test my CD-Rewriter... One frustrating item is my internal IDE ZIP 100 Drive. This is useful for me as I can save stuff quickly when I'm doing a project such as a presentation. 9.2 is hopelessly broken here as the system just jams up when I try to use the Zip drive......I've had a read on the newsgroups & the problem seems beyond me.... If anyone has any ideas & would like to help they're welcome.... Joseph
