Hi guys,
Some guy read my article on the History of Unix and Linux and wants to
know which version of the UNIX kernel Linus used as inspiration for the
Linux kernel. Personally, I don't know.. Does anyone have an idea?

Hi there,
I wasn't really into UNIX when Linux came around, however, this
message has been forwarded to my local Linux User Group where someone
will come up with an answer.. I'll post you a reply as soon as I have
one.
You can also look at this site which you may find useful:

Thanks i know :D
for an example BSD was inspired from
the GE 645 abandoned program
not from the first called Unics system.
Yes it's a clone of what model ?
there is a big Gap
between Version.6 1973 arch
and the System V.3 arch
What model has been cloned ?

Hi there,
I did not understand your question fully, but:

cloned. This means that no particular version of UNIX was used to
create Linux - Linux is a kernel which mirrors the functions of the
UNIX kernel.
Hope this helps, please ask again if this is not what you were
