Today we have a BUSY LIST! - Makes a welcome change...

I believe that Andrew's original idea was to install the mirror machine with
LVM set up and ready to go - so adding more space should be relatively
seamless.

Obviously getting more / bigger hard drives is the next logical step to
mirroring more distros!

For the record, we should be able to get a 200Gb ATA hard drive for Lm59
excluding VAT.

Philip - keep pushing for more cash :)

Subject: Re: [LINUX.ORG.MT] How you can contribute to the MLUG

I agree that MLUG should not promote one distro over another per se. However
considering the ever-increasing size of most Linux distros, we do have a
limit. IMO we should mirror those distributions that the largest number of
users will want to download, so as to provide the maximum benefit.

Keep in mind that most distros consist of one set of ISOs, one set of
individual package files, and a set of updates at the very least. In
addition, if we decide to mirror say the last 2 versions of each, that's a
significant chunk of disk space per distro.
