I am just telling you what I heard directly from Microsoft... You know, it is different hearing it from rumours or the occasional news item and actually hearing it directly from the source :-)
I personally am a fan of Linux and have been using it since 1996. I also think that for a server or distributed application nothing can beat it (I have a 64-node Linux cluster btw) As most have said -- Linux installation on a non-standard PC is much more easy to do -- but I think the majority of normal users are interested in getting an OS that is a piece of cake/no-brainer to install and use. This is what I think MS mean by "usability".
