Thanks to Raphael for this link. NASA's Columbia supercomputer, the world's fastest, is running Linux. The computer was completed in 120 days by SGI, Intel and NASA. It has 10,240 itanium processors and delivers a sustained 42.7 teraflops. By comparison, IBM's Blue Gene/L achieves 36.01 teraflops.
