Will they let you dual boot??
Would you want to dual boot??
Are they concerned about security risks??

Oh dear. Why will the company not let you run Linux?? You could always tout the cost savings. Often, I find that people realising the ability to export to PDF in OOO is a winner.

Of course, if one is forced to use Windoze, there are no products, IMHO, to beat Firefox and Thunderbird when it comes to ripping out that built-in Redmond crap.

Have been waiting to speak to a bar owner who is interested in hosting

Of course, this presupposes that people would want to bring along their
laptops and show of their windowmanager tweaks! Does anyone?? If not,
Guess it'll be a case of voting for the bar.

So guys,

How about the Four Seasons in B'kara? They have also very good wine, and they serve free snacks... And the environment is not noisy neither. If
everyone agrees we can schedule a day and reserve a table for us.

I really think option 2 is a good idea. I mean, if the purpose of
the event is to socialise, then beer is the best way to do it, as
other events would create small groups rather then one big one. The
only reservation I have with option 2 is that maybe the place we go
to will be too crowded/noisy to talk. Then agian, we'll talk about
that once we start discussing the place.

Valid point! But as you say, once we can agree on what to do (looks
like option 2 is winning so far!) then we can go for the location.

Regs.

Iain.
