Which keeps my system fixed at 2.8.3. But, how will I now know when I have to remove this line? How will I know when gnome2.10 is no longer hard masked?
Just perform a periodic esearch on Gnome and look for the removal of the masked wording. If you don't want to do this manually, write a small script to perform the action and email yourself the results when it changes.
