Hey, I'm posting from Linux =D

I'm not exactly sure what even happened. First I logged in as root (not
su),
tried to connect from there to do what you asked me too, but Konqueror
wouldn't
open, it would try and load and die before the window got up. So I logged
out
and logged into my user account.I pinged my gateway and it seemed fine,
then I
started pinging a tracert list of hops to Google which I had gotten from
when I
was in Windows earlier. After the first 5 produced results, I decided it
might be
quicker to start from the last hop and work my way down to see where my
connection was being halted, but I got a reply from google! (you can
imagine my
surprise after one week of trying) I had to insert the DNS server
addresses into
/etc/resolv.conf which is generated by NetworkManager (which I suspect is
not
working properly) even though on connection the DNS addresses were
retrieved.
The file /etc/ppp/resolv.conf had these addresses all the while.

That's about it. Nothing I hadn't done before, I'm still not sure what the
problem could be.

Thank's for all the help guys. I've been desperate to migrate to Linux and
now
I'm finally on my way.
