Guys, I'm cleaning up my HD and came across this report : http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/ict/policy/doc/2006-11-20-flossimpact.pdf
Besides Showing how much of a "european project" OSS development is this is the document where I got my idea that when you calculate "how much would it have cost to build the same software entirely within a single firm in a proprietary software development model" for Debian this adds up to Euro 11.9 Billion till 2005 and an estimated 100 Billion by 2010. That is why I say that the slogan for giving out Linux CDs should be something like "Come and get your own 11.9 Billion Euros of investment for FREE" Also the document is a whopping 287 pages long and almost 2 years old, but it still might be worth it printing 1 copy, binding it neatly and casually slapping it on the table when meeting "policy makers" with a side comment of "BTW what we are saying here is supported by EU funded research" Philip
