I'm cleaning up my HD and came across this report :

Besides Showing how much of a "european project" OSS development is this is
the document where I got my idea that
when you calculate "how much would it have cost to build the same software
entirely within a single firm in a
proprietary software development model" for Debian this adds up to Euro 11.9
Billion till 2005 and an estimated 100 Billion by 2010.

That is why I say that the slogan for giving out Linux CDs should be
something like "Come and get your own 11.9 Billion Euros of investment for
FREE"

Also the document is a whopping 287 pages long and almost 2 years old, but
it still might be worth it printing 1 copy, binding it neatly and casually
slapping
it on the table when meeting "policy makers" with a side comment of "BTW
what we are saying here is supported by EU funded research"
