Good Evening All, I have this pc which wouldn't work properly with the nvidia driver suggested. The vga card is a Geforce FX5200 128MB RAM. I tried installing the nvidia 173 ... driver, but was getting a low resolution, 640x420. The default one gave me 800x600, and the monitor was never recognised. Now as I use a KVM switch I thought that maybe that was the problem, but still no monitor details. So, I by-passed the kvm switch, and using Envy NG, I tried the 96 ... driver, and it works! I've set up the res. to 1024x768, but it seems that it can go much higher than this, and I can see my monitor details. Should I stay using this driver, or should I try again with the 173?
Well my idea was to attend Saturday's meeting and discus this. I have also invited the owner of the pc to come along as he has many questions that he would like to ask. Regards, Charles
