If you want to make a presentation in linux with photos, another possible solution is for an add-on in firefox - cooliris. It was for windows only but now it could be installed in linux too (although still in beta version). You can try the beta version at cooliris.com/beta. The more feedback they'll receive, the'll be convinced that there are many linux users in the world! By the way it worked perfectly well on my laptop although still in beta version!
