I've had a meeting with Wilfred Gauci from EMD, a translation company. He said that he uses the spell-checker all the time in his work, and since their company is less busy during summer, has offered to engage a number of his staff to work on the spell checker throughout the summer, weeding out errors as well as adding new words to the list, in return for recognition as a sponsor. This should greatly improve the quality of the spell-checker, enough to take it out of beta and announce it again on the media with a bit of fanfare. If we can also work on getting it included in OpenOffice.org and Firefox, it would be a great asset. Wilfred is very keen on the Maltese language and is active in the standardisation process as well as the Kunsill tal-Ilsien Malti.
