Hello Fellow Linux Users,
During the last annual general meeting I had the opportunity to show to
those present a live cd distro called Puppy Linux. I chose a 'puplet' called
Tipsy Puppy as this fitted my needs. What I was after was ease of use, able
to view and modify Windoze files, able to setup screen resolution whilst
using a KVM switch, and a a good file manager. The file manager used is
Thunar which I think mimics the one found in Windoze. I actually compiled my
own distro which is very easy to do, and even included British TV, which
really amazed all those present as to how easy it is to view Freeview
channels available on British Sky Tv.
I am pretty sure that this distro will provide food for thought for fellow
members, and maybe be a pilot project to introduce newcomers to the Linux
world.
I've attached a file with various links for Puppy downloads, which should
help anyone interested to use this distro.
Have Fun.

Charles
