Thanks a lot Guys,

Jean Azzopardi is without doubt one of our leading computer experts in
Malta, unfortunately most of us mere mortals do not come close to his
know-how.
In my opinion with Linux we are lucky to have a vast amount of
information available, although some information may be out of date or
even incorrect. The big problem is how to find the correct specific
information required to get over a problem. Hence the reason for my
dumb posts.
To give an example: I am using a 64bit Ubuntu operating system and when I
upgraded to Karmic my printer became a paper weight! I found that the
Cups version had changed and the manufactures driver then did not work.
It took me nearly thee months to find a fix.
Probably Jean would say I was dumb (which I am) in not knowing the
answer, well I didn't.
Perhaps he would like to post some How To's to help the ordinary MLUG
Linux user. Instead of moaning?.
End of rant.
Have fun,
Paul
