No, it's just that Moonlight is not compatible with the spec yet, I
think. Same goes for Mono and .NET.

While we may rail against Silverlight and Flash, having had the
opportunity to program in Silverlight, I think it's going to be pretty
hard to replace it. Silverlight is actually rather fun to program
with, and it can produce rich UIs quite quickly.

First of all, HTML 5 might be good for videos, however it has its own
share of problems, as Firefox for instance, only plays Theora videos,
while Youtube's new HTML 5 implementation is using h264.

Second, gaming is another huge factor. You need flash/silverlight to
get good games on the web, especially if we invoke h/w acceleration.

Third. I think that the Ipad/Iphone not having flash is more a
technical reason (OS + chipset) than anything else. I can understand
why flash might not be welcome on the Iphone, but the Ipad is meant as
a browsing device. Whether we like it or not, flash is still heavily
used on the web, and flash games are also pretty big.. especially
among the target audience of non-geeks. (Farmville, etc.)
