I received the following reply: Dear Mr Borg Ellul Vincenti,
First of all I would like to thank you for the interest in this meeting in particular, in Open Source Software, and as stated by yourself, for the efforts towards Linux in Malta. Without any doubt MITA encourages the participation of entities with different interests in Open Source Software and welcomes you to participate in the meeting. As you might understand, the user group will not focus as such on particular products, but without any doubt it will create a ground for information sharing, as well as opportunity for networking between members in the OSS within Government, with effect on the generic OSS eco-system. On the Agenda for the meeting, is a presentation on OSS related work carried out so far, background of communities and the role of the user group. Discussions will follow. The intention is that during the following meetings, interested parties will be able to provide short presentations. Such presentation will be based on information sharing for use of OSS within Government rather than marketing information. Should you be interested in sharing your views you are welcome to present them by email, use the time allowed during the open discussion, or participate in one of the following meetings. Feel free to provide feedback, or any other suggestion.
