Hello Ramon,

Linux Mint is incredibly fast (the fastest distro I ever used)...but
you have to see it by yourself. Alas, not that this should be the
reason to use a different distro.

The difference between the debian and standard edition is that the
former can be always updated so in theory you dont ever need to
reinstall the system again. That's one big plus. I also find it faster
than the standard (ubuntu) edition. Also I am assuming you talk in
debian lingo and comfortable in that environment.
