Patents fall under intellectual property. Small software houses and start-ups are also affected. If this gets as bad as airport security with regards to privacy invasion, even Joe Public will join us in such a campaign.

Considering that China already pulled out of it, i don't get the whole point of the US pushing this down the EU's throat. Its already a lost battle. I am moving my servers to AWS in Brazil ... oh wait, I have to pay with Visa and they are American - dammit

Has anyone taken a close look at ACTA from the perspective of Linux and/or OSS? For instance, with ACTA, DVD playing software in Linux is illegal (because they still rely on decss). Also, according to an analysis by the FSF, ACTA would require that ISPs no longer host free software that can access copyrighted media, and DRM-protected media would not be legally playable with free or open source software.
