Ramon I think the main issue is the site getting spammed that is causing these
problems. Secondly if Raphael gives me the go ahead ill reduce the number of
child processes apache spawns.

Anything in the log to indicate why the server went down. I have noticed though
that apache tends to spawn alot of child processes, and that can usually be
mitigated by adjusting some settings in the apache config file.

For some reason the server went down but I eventually managed to log in
remotely and restart apache. Should be ok now but keep an eye open. There
was a whole bunch of apache processes.

We may need to set a maximum or something because the moment I pkilled
apache, performance was back up to normal. There were quite a lot of
processes but I didn't bother counting them.
