Good afternoon my fellow penguins, I hope that every one is well and enjoying the summer, but i would like to bring up a couple of topics or maybe shed some light on them
1. The Current MLUG Site - who is maintaining it? as i have noticed alot of blank posts, and also the top right corner where the sponsored links are missing. also if i am not mistaken if it was in books or wiki i noticed that there are some spam. 2. The Next Generation MLUG site - this i know that Jonathan was to setup wordpress and knowing him he would have it on lockdown against spam, is there a preview that I and other members may look at to give our feedback? 3. MLUG Facebook Fan Page: has this been done yet? all i know of MLUGS foot print is on the OSSMALTA fan page where i have linked and marked that ossmalta is in collaboration with MLUG. 4. This may be a bit off topic and i know most of you have noticed but my attendance to the meetings has dropped, like most of you i work and study, though i do try to make time to attend all the morning meetings, but since i am bound by arriva, (similar to Alitalia - always late on arrival and always late on departure) i somtimes end up heading back home half way. May it be that i am departing from mellieha, luqa, naxxar, b'bugia. and there have been occations when i have had to pull all nighters on assignments that i end up crashing prior to the meeting ( and almost any other saturday and sunday) but this dosen't mean that i do not read the emails, or that i do not want par-take. i am happy to say that as the past couple of weeks have passed i have been working on VPS linux servers, and the more i use them for web, the more i am understanding the inner-workings of the interweb and wordpress. 5. OSSMALTA.com Wordpress: As i have mentioned above should i continue to use a VPS (based in london), would Jonathan or Ramon allow me to copy the ossmalta.com direcotry off the MLUG server to move it to my new VPS, as not to continue consuming the current mlug server resources at GO (who have been lowering the bandwidth and speed lately, should GO continue to limit thier access to the MLUG server i won't mind hosting it or a copy of the site should there be a need) 6. Online Marketing: This i admit is down on my future ossmalta plans, but i guess most of you have seen the Linux Foundation youtube clip of how linux is built, and maybe the Icentere advert (cartoon based), though this is mostly a free medium, and at times i have a heavy load but since its august and i have 2 more weeks of shutdown from work, i am currently working on web projects (ossmalta and ossmedia) should you like to discuss some sort of marketing material (which i mean is artworks, Animations made in flash then hosted onto youtube) i may highly contribute as that is where i am mostly experienced.
