I've upgraded from Kubuntu 8.10 to Kubuntu 9.04 today. It was the easiest upgrade I ever had to do! My GT8800 was detected and is working just like it was before. I still have a "margin issue" on TV but I've learned to deal with it. I'm just happy I didn't had to restart in safe mode, fetch the driver from the Nvidia web site using links and install... Some of the little annoyance I had with KDE in 8.10 seem to be gone. I do have one major issue right now. The color of the text in some menu and area is black on a black background. When using the file manager in the taskbar, the listing of the folder is black on black. The button of the running application on the taskbar is also black on black and finally, the "leave" menu is also black on black. I can't make out a few things because of it. If I switch to a dark colored theme, it's fine. If I switch back to a light colored theme, the problem is back. Since I did an upgrade, I'm assuming something went wrong in the transition. On 8.10, I was using a black "piano" like theme for the menu and taskbar. Does anyone know how to reset these specific colors? What folder should I delete as a last resort to remove all color preferences and let KDE regenerate the default? Beside that, so far, I'm liking it! -- Ravnox _______________________________________________ mlug mailing list Well, the DVD install had audio Pulse and the others working 100%. After today's updates, there is only audio at logon screen presented and at shutdown. What has gone wrong. Some library that is between pulse and the ALSA or lower level inbetweens to audio card. ------------------ Regards Leslie Leslie Satenstein 5752 Avenue Lockwood.
