I believe Linux Mint is by far a more complete desktop alternative for the everyday user. It is based on Ubuntu but has what average Joe needs and no work is required after install.
For the advanced user well you have access to all the Ubuntu repo's so if I can pick a distro for the average Joe it would be Linux Mint. Personal experience with Ubuntu has not been as solid for me as for some others but when you want something to work out of the box Linux Mint does it right. _______________________________________________ mlug mailing list [email protected] https://listes.koumbit.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mlug-listserv.mlug.ca
