Right now we always lose connection, even standing next to the router we often have poor signal strength. I fear it's all due to interference from the multiple access points in our office building and other things.

Can anyone recommend a good wireless router, G/N MIMO that should give us better coverage than an old Linksys G router.

We are in an office building, it's pretty wide open, all concrete, we're on the 11^th floor, and with Netstumbler I've detected 96 other access points... I'm sure if I walk around the office again, I'll break the 100 mark.

I was looking into the CISCO AirNet's, but I'm worried about forking over $1k and still having the same problems.

An easy thing you can try to do is to focus your antennas, put reflective material behind the antennas, pointing to your workspace... there are some easy parabolic type DIY ones with plans on the net. You can get higher gain antennas as well. I don't think that many APs is too surprising, if you are testing with a good card you will pick up even faint signals, and downtown there are more than enough active to do a hundred or more.

An N router may help, but it may not... I would try one from a consumer store you can return, and see how it helps. I think picking the sparsest channel (with the most weak signals on it) and getting the antennas to really cover your area is going to be your best bet. If you are using an alternate firmware, you could try messing with the transmit power and associated settings.
