Hi,

Is anyone using any of these firmwares and if yes, where can I buy supported
hardware?

I have checked the routers Staples has, none is one the list :(

Thanks,
a.

Best: http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/netgear-netgear-rangemax-wireless-n-router-wnr3500l-100nas-wnr3500l-100nas/10151761.aspx?path=75152525e5b9b228e03ac0091364a41fen02

It is their "opensource" router. I run a few of em.

If you want dual band: http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/netgear-netgear-wireless-router-wndr3700-100nas-wndr3700-100nas/10151733.aspx?path=67bbc2bbdb55ea9afeee4a9a21275611en02

They both have USB ports, openwrt runs great on them, as does tomato (only on first one) and dd-wrt (both).

I suggest openwrt personally, more stable, more up to date.

Feel free to ask for help, I am compiling my own firmware for the WNDR3700 every week or so from trunk, can provide it if you like.
