Most people use simple password to begin with usually ranging from
wife/ husband name girlfriend/boyfriend in one case mistress ;) kids
names birthday's or most often on a post-it in plane sight.

wep is sufficiently weak you don't even need to guess the password.
With the right software on a handheld computer you can walk through an
office building breaking into every wep as you walk by it.  So it
doesn't matter if the password is posted in plain sight.

Really, you need to secure the computers on your LAN, not just rely on
a firewall.



Not to be taken out of context, But what i meant is if your running a wep router you have a bigger issue than your wireless printer. As for passwords i meant desktop/ user's and not the router itself. Since i am familiar with backtrack and how easily wep can be cracked you are correct passwords would not be needed.

I was more referring to Patricia's example that the weakest link is more often than not the users.
