I moved over in November.  I still try to keep gnome installed and
upgraded, even if only for the sake of old lang syne, old time's sake,
but the inconsistent package dependencies I get in Debian testing makes
this difficult.  I rather suspect that if I purged gnome and all its
components, I might be unable to reinstall it until the thing stabilizes.

I moved to Arch and gnome3 a few months ago and I love it. Unity started really getting on my nerves. Gnome3 is different, but it is very usable, and in fact I think my day-to-day workflow is faster and easier vs. gnome2.
