I don't buy into the Steam hate. In 2004, I actually cancel my pre-order for 
Half-Life 2 because I did not want to be locked into Steam. My opinion has 
changed a lot since then because Valve have actually created something useful 
and good, unlike many publishers that forces users to be always connected to 
the Internet, or limit your number of installations. Regardless of the merit or 
shortcoming with Steam itself, this is a good news because this sort of 
application, and Valve porting their own game to Linux can only help to 
increase the number of Linux users around the world. This could take users away 
from Windows and bring them to Linux. Just the same, I would rather see more 
applications running under Linux, even if they are not open source, then not 
seeing those applications at all.
