I always check ebay, one of the first links:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-ProLiant-G7-MicroServer-N40L-DualCore-1-5GHz-4SATA-2DDR3-GigaBit-1YR-warranty-/110831192059?pt=COMP_EN_Servers&hash=item19ce0dc7fb
$256 + $130 shipping to canada.

If you want a file server though there have been many other options that have been discussed on this list in the past. You want a small form factor with 2 to 4 3.5" bays, and a fast nic. I'd check out the freenas forums etc. I think there was a dlink unit that I was looking at a while ago that you could run linux on, it was quite small. Although, I have to say that proliant looks pretty nice. Small but enough rooom to hold all the goodies you'd likely want to stick in there.

Hi

I was looking into buying an HP Microserver for a small project, to be
used as a file server:

UNfortunately when you call Insight they will jack up the price by +200$
and I can't seem to find a way to buy this server for a reasonable price
in Canada.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a similar system with remote (IPMI,
or else) access, good on-site warranty and reasonable pricing? Or how
can I get HP Canada to sell this thing to me?

I am not looking for rackmount form factor, really just the smallest box
that can do RAID. I don't want to build one myself either.

Thanks for any tips about your current setup.

Cheers,

Fabian
