Hi MLUG, I've been lurking around the group for quite some time - often get involved in 'off-the-list' discussion with members. Feel free to ignore this mail (as the subject make the matter quite direct) and send me a flurry of insults. I'm all for settling those kind of issues over a beer (or 2), downtown.
My current employer is looking to expand the group I'm managing (technical operation: sysadmin for production system on Amazon Web Services). The team is quite small (including level 1, we don't even hit the 10 head count), and is partly distributed (1 in New York, 1 in Vegas). I've started here a few months ago, and I've been redesigning most of the infrastructure to be more redundant and fault tolerant - multi region/az in AWS, puppet & mcollective, svn for config files, confluence & jira as wiki/ticket system, etc.. in other word, the standard 'startup stack' and the 'big company numbers' - cool mix. We're not speaking of a very big network, but the numbers are quite interesting (few billions edge hit on our akamai caching services, good chunk of unique visitor per month (somewhere around 10M+). If anyone is interested, either reach me directly ([email protected]), through linkedin or apply online. The job offer has been posted there: http://www.linkedin.com/jobs?viewJob=&jobId=3638047 P. -- Pascal Charest Technical operation manager @ BeyondTheRack
