Grub-mkconfig or grub2-mkconfig scans all the partitions on your system in
order to generate a grub.cfg file.  If some partitions are not mounted, grub2
will skip over them.

I had a problem with Mlink only showing Ubuntu, but not Debian or Fedora
distributions that I have on that installed system.

The grub maintainer advised me to mount all partitions of interest, and with a
redo of grub-mkconfig,  the full grub.cfg with no omissions was created.

Is there a recommended new mother board with  UEFI support
