Not sure exactly what are your hardware needs, but I recommend you take
a good look at the Mele A1000/A2000/A1000g/A2000g (the "g" means it has
1G instead of 512M of ram, and the 1000-vs-2000 denomination is just
a difference in the shape of the case).
You can get them for about $70 at dx.com or aliexpress.com and they're
great for home-server uses. I have one here at home with 2TB drive,
running Debian testing. It's silent and super efficient (like ~3W
idle), which is a major selling point.
