I did it by:

1) converting LibreOffice to PPT
2) Open the PPT with PowerPoint
3) The pages that didn't convert properly:
   a) delete the complete page in PowerPoint,
b) cut & paste the complete page from LibreOffice-Impress to PowerPoint.
4) All look OK now

Can someone help me to RELIABLY convert a pdf (or an odp) document into ppt? I
am at a conference, and all they accept is ppt. Alternatively, if someone can
convert this for me, without mangling it, I would be most grateful.

here is the pdf

here is the odp (libreoffice)

http://db.tt/s1kPRmui

I've tried:

1. using libreoffice to save as ppt: that ended up with all sorts of formatting
issues
2. generating a pdf from libreoffice and using a free online pdf to ppt
generator: that was even worse.
3. I haven't tried to convert it using adobe acrobat pro XI, if someone has a
license for that, please try and let me know if it works. I'm not sure it
exists in windows
4. I haven't tried opening the odp with ppt, but I don't expect that to work
much better than saving as ppt from libreoffice

For now, I have a pdf and odp, and they only accept ppt. So sad.

I have only a couple hours to figure this out! Its so hard to be a dedicated
linux user, even in 2013.

Thanks for the LUG,

Naveen
