I am one of those people who do charge for the use of Spinrite. Contact me 
directly and we can discuss cost. It would be less than the purchase cost.

I have found that Spinrite  recognizes when a drive is on its last few 
pirouettes and tells you not to run it any more.  At that point I have a few 
more last gasp techniques.
