Part of the challenge will be that 8 is a quickly moving target, lambda is synced with 8 sporadically, and mac port is based on 7, (and in the future 7u) which is a quickly moving target, diverging from 8, obviously.
My suggestion would be to start by looking at the diff between 7 and mac port, and then applying that to a variant of the lambda forest.
