Title: Message

Hasan,

I’d received this surprisingly from my fellow alumnus, now doing a PhD program at Northwestern Univ., and not from friends of ours (Harvard fellow Ito Warsito or others)  here. This only confirmed the world becomes so small that everything is getting more difficult to conceal. If we managed to cover it up here, foreigners out there (or even our own nationals) definitely would share such information.

Since our justification is being reviewed around the globe, we may need to be extra careful from now on. (Lucky to devoted Moslems or other believers because of God’s around the clock attendance.)

Take care,

GS

P.S. I forward this to other (FE, FH, MM) fellow alumni as well due to its interesting phenomena, and would like to invite intellectually rich comments.

Actually, BKPM performance last year and this year is very good.  (But the previous years were very bad).   As the article indicates, just a few days prior to the "incident", Toemion was informed that SBY had approved and signed off on Toemion's replacement.  Maybe as the last parting shot ("tembakan" terakhir menjelang perpisahan) for SBY's cabinet?  If so, why use nationalism and racism as an excuse?  If not, why strangle a 14-year old boy?

This is another example of a strange generic characteristic I have noticed among our best technocrats -- during any regime.  They are so smart, articulate, eloquent and well-trained that they seem always to be able to justify anything and everything -- from KKN (during Orba) to breaking the noses of JIS parents.

Oh dear!

100 % agree pak. Just wondering, do they use EQ as one of the indicator in the fit and proper test????? Or Theo just want to follow the trend???

A very interesting incident.  Nationalism and racism is used to justify violent public behavior of a high-ranking public official.

At least, if BKPM keeps this up, us airlines in Indonesia won't have to worry about foreign investors coming into the Indonesian air transport sector.

Pls apologize for the non-corporate governance posting. But this story is so
disturbing.
