Hello all! I'm new to the program and to the group.

This seems like it ought to be really easy, but I've run several
keyword searches on this group to no avail. On checking out Mnemosyne,
I really like what I've read about the algorithm and would like to
apply it to some of my flashcard collections that have way too many
items to repeat efficiently in a short time frame. However, I'd like
to be able to import the data I already have rather than recreating
it.

I'm studying Japanese, and I like having multi-sided cards so that I
can separate kanji/pronunciation/English into progressive stages. I
understand that Mnemosyne can do this with three-sided cards. However,
I can't figure out for the life of me how to *import* three sided
cards.

Most of my data is currently in Stackz, which provides for four data
fields. The fourth field is usually not crucial, so I could export the
data to Excel and get rid of the fourth field if necessary. But so
far, when I try to import my Stackz export files (tab-delimited) into
Mnemosyne, the second and third fields are automatically sent to the
"answer" field (the fourth field seems to be ignored). Creating a new
Mnemosyne file and trying to set it up as a three-field file before
importing doesn't seem to make any difference (though I may be doing
it wrong). Am I missing something obvious? Or is this something that
Mnemosyne just can't handle yet?

Thanks for any help and advice you all can provide!

Sara
