When you say "entering" 100 cards a day, do you mean adding 100 new
cards and doing all of your reviews and looking at the new cards
(which should be scheduled at the end, depending on the settings... I
think)?

The important thing is really that you're not just making too much
work for yourself; as Peter says, you should probably cut down on the
number of cards you add each day. Remember that the review workload
will be proportional to the number of new cards you view each day.

Since the normal rule for a set of cards that are due for review is
that the most urgent appear first, you can just do as much as you have
time for (e.g. 45 mins-1 hour, bearing in mind that this is apparently
the most optimal study period anyway and you should be taking a
break/stopping around then) and things will work out - if you're
already swamped, then only doing 50 minutes (or x cards, where x is,
say, 120) will neglect the new cards in favour of the more urgent
cards needing review. Soon, the backlog will clear itself and you will
be left with a more manageable workload.

If it's any help, I only add cards every 3 days, adding about 36 at a
pop. I spend a little under an hour (if things go well) to do my
reviews and learn 12 new cards (and no more). I arrived at these
numbers (they were initially much too high, like in your case) through
simple observations of adjustments of the workload I was seeing. These
are Chinese character/word production cards though, so if you have
cards that require less brute-force learning you'll be able to
progress much more quickly than I do.

good luck,
Oisín
