I encountered exactly the same problem - when I import my material from supermemo, mnemosyne shows the html code, instead of the correctly formatted text ...
when I tried to copy and paste the html code in to the field in the edit mode (ctrl + E), it seems to work fine (I got text with bold, italic characters, where they were supposed to be .. except it seems mnemosyne did not show coloured text or highlights ...) surely it should not be a big problem to fix the importer from supermemo, in order for it to handle the html code correctly ?!
