There are problems when using cards with Unicode and OS X. Sometimes switching input methods will crash Mnemosyne, although I've only experienced this when editing a card, not simply reviewing them.
This bug, though, is present in all versions of Mnemosyne for OS X, so it may be different than what you are reporting.
