To troubleshoot Mnemosyne, terminate any other applications.

Give the "3-fingered salute" (Ctrl+Alt+Del), to display Task Manager.

1) If the "Applications" tab shows that Mnemosyne is "Not
Responding", but the "Performance" tab shows very little CPU activity
(and the Task Manager icon is dark green), then it probably means that
Mnemosyne has stopped. You can safely kill the process in the
"Processes" tab.

2) If the "Applications" tab shows that Mnemosyne is "Not
Responding", but the "Performance" tab shows high (almost 100%) CPU
activity (and the Task Manager icon is almost completely light green),
then Mnemosyne is still working. You can wait, and eventually the "Not
Responding" status changes to "Running". All normal screen activity
will resume.
