Don't get me wrong, I also think it's a in principle a good idea, but at the moment I see this rather as a corner case that it not really high on my todo list, I'm afraid. The code for the scheduler is already quite lengthy as it is, and there is plenty of other 2.x work that still needs to be done :-) Maybe later, but feel free help implement this now if you like.
