If your goal is long-term retention of the material, then it would be best not to re-test before the schedule. Spaced repetition works by attempting to re-present information a little before than the time you would forget, at ever increasing intervals, thus gradually moving that piece of information from your short term memory, to long term, and occasionally your permanent memory.
There are reasons why you may want to learn ahead of schedule, though. For instance, if you feel the cards are scheduled too far into the future, and you have already forgotten most of them, then there is no point in waiting for their scheduled date. If this is happening it's probably because you gave the cards too high a grade. --- En date de : Dim, 20.9.09, shinyspoons <[email protected]> a écrit : If i use the 'learn ahead of schedule' feature a lot will it actually cause more harm than good in the long term?
