I wrote previously about grainy mp3 audio. I tried using a plugin to
play the audio through some other program instead of through mnemosyne
itself, and mplayer, VLC, totem, etc. all had their own unique
headaches and each failed to get the job done. So I stuck with the
grainy sound through pygame and figured that was that.

Recently I've tried using mp3's from another source and have been
unable to get them to play sanely (grainy or otherwise). They either
play at a dramatically reduced speed (to the point of being
incomprehensible; this is if they are CBR), or lock up mnemosyne
entirely (this is if they're ABR, I believe).

Anybody know how to fix this? I read somewhere that someone had luck
converting to wav, but I dunno that I can really do that with the
volume of audio I'd like to use.

All suggestions welcome, looking forward to 2.0.

Ian
