Keep the suggestions coming!
As I'm a keyboard fan I often notice when can't do things without moving my hand or fingers more than a few centimetres. If I am working through a deck and I am not doing well, e.g. if it contains a lot of new cards, I am usually pressing 1 or 2 in response to the answer. Now, when I have pressed 2, say, I now want to display the next card. But I have to move my finger ALL THE WAY FROM THE '2' KEY, to the Spacebar! I know, it's terrible! I notice that the keys 0-5 have no effect once the answer has been displayed. What I would like is for the number keys to also call up the next card.
I can see problems with this. Perhaps inadvertently auto-repeating the key for instance, and suddenly finding that you've zoomed through several cards. Although that could also be said for the spacebar. But on the whole it appeals to me as being quite elegant. I could happily process an entire session just by using a very small part of the keyboard. Part of me hesitates because I'm not a huge fan of multi-function keys or overloading the function of a particular key, but perhaps it could be configurable.
