Where are those files, and are you sure they're actually the program file - try opening Mnemosyne from Spotlight (cmd-space, then type mnemosyne into the search box and hit enter if it finds the program). Otherwise, it sounds like maybe those files are in use by something - you could have a look in terminal, maybe try "lsof | grep mnemosyne" and find out which process is locking them. I'm not sure if there is a cramming mode in Mnemosyne like Anki has - I've never tried that in either program, but it might be more helpful for you to prepare for tomorrow's tests.
